General Bio
Janay Anthony was born on May 2, 1995, at 12:16 p.m. in Naperville, Illinois, USA. She is a Black, queer, multi-disabled (blind/partially deaf), polyamorous Sex and Couples Therapist, astrologer, tarot reader, and creative based in Chicago, IL. She has been deep in her esoteric studies since 2012, and incorporates her spiritual practices into her work as a psychotherapist.
Janay started becoming more involved in the astrological community in 2020 and joined the board of the Association for Young Astrologers (AYA) as their Vice President. In 2023, Janay accepted the position of AYA's Chairperson and has seen the organization through the launch of new educational programming, a fellowship program, and an update of the organization's bylaws.
In addition to her work at AYA, Janay has been a featured lecturer at the Black Astrology Conference and AFAN's International Day of Astrology. She was also a guest teacher at Stormie Grace's YouTube Astrology Academy and Nadiya Shah's Synchronicity University. Currently, Janay is developing an astrology-themed tabletop role-playing game aimed at teaching the basics of traditional astrology. She is also working on an astrological research project about polyamory and non-monogamy in the natal chart. Additionally, Janay is working on an original oracle deck based off her clinical work as a therapist.

Janay is currently a pre-licensed Couples and Family Therapist in the state of Illinois. She is employed as a Founder's Fellow at Live Oak Chicago and is accepting new clients. She works with individuals, intimate partners (couples, triads, polycules, etc.), families, and groups.

Janay has an educational background in writing and acting, and is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She started professional singing lessons in 2020 and has written upwards of 50 original songs. Her music can be found on various corners of the internet, and you can catch her at the occasional open mic event in Chicago. Her most recent acting credit was a starring role in Mad Girls (2020), an independently produced stage play about the relationship between a Jewish artist and her Black adopted sister that examines the intersections of family, religion, and queerness.
